Constantinople
Arrived at five and about six went on shore. There was no trouble at customs-house, a few francs then to Angleterre very good but old and expensive. It was 1 ½ francs for landing. We went to Cook’s office for tickets to Athens; had early lunch and went in the afternoon to ride about the city. Rode around the walls of Istanboul, ascended one of the Seven towers where there is a fine view of the city.
